1. Introduction

Welcome to Slate Trends ("we", "us", "our"). Slate Trends operates the website slatetrends.com (the "Platform"), a business discovery and directory service connecting users with local businesses across Ghana. By accessing or using our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or list a business on Slate Trends. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate and truthful.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you must register for an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information.
• Keep your password confidential and not share it with others.
• Notify us immediately at support@slatetrends.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
• Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Business Listings

Business owners may submit listings on the Platform subject to the following:

• You must own or be authorised to represent the business you are listing.
• All information provided must be accurate, current, and not misleading.
• Listings must not contain offensive, illegal, or discriminatory content.
• You may not list businesses engaged in illegal activities under Ghanaian law.
• Duplicate listings for the same business are not permitted.
• We reserve the right to reject, edit, or remove any listing at our sole discretion.

Basic listing is currently free. We may introduce premium features or subscription tiers in the future, with clear notice given to existing users before any changes take effect.

5. User Reviews and Content

Users may submit reviews, ratings, and other content ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you:

• Confirm the review reflects a genuine experience with the business.
• Grant Slate Trends a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and distribute the content on the Platform.
• Agree not to post false, defamatory, or malicious reviews.
• Agree not to post reviews in exchange for payment or other incentives.

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we deem inappropriate.

6. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the Platform without our written permission.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Platform or its systems.
• Transmit spam, malware, or any harmful code.
• Impersonate another person or business.
• Post false or fraudulent business information.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's operation.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform that is not User Content - including the design, logo, text, graphics, and software - is the property of Slate Trends and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the Platform without our prior written consent. The Slate Trends name and logo are trademarks of Slate Trends.

8. Third-Party Services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites and integrates third-party services (such as mapping and image hosting). These are provided for convenience only. We have no control over third-party content and are not responsible for their accuracy, availability, or practices. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We do not verify the accuracy of business listings beyond a basic review process and are not responsible for inaccurate business information provided by third parties.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Ghanaian law, Slate Trends shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Platform. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or GHS 100, whichever is greater.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Slate Trends and its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Modifications to the Platform and Terms

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time. We may update these Terms periodically. If we make material changes, we will notify users via email or a prominent notice on the Platform. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall first be submitted to good-faith negotiation. If unresolved, disputes shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Accra, Ghana.
